STEM Related Grants

Private grant funding supports the Alliance for Education's STEM initiative. The goal of our STEM initiative is to provide leadership in establishing and strengthening a STEM culture in San Bernardino County and the Inland Empire. Our STEM initiative supports schools and districts in achieving this goal by:

  • Providing STEM learning experiences that allow K-12 students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts.
  • Assisting districts in developing STEM-focused programs and pathways, creating a seamless continuum from preschool through postsecondary education, ultimately preparing students for success in the workforce.

Southern California Edison Grant

The Southern California Edison grant provides STEM learning experiences designed to develop/practice STEM skills and promote STEM career exploration. Back at the schools site it also strengthens school-wide STEM learning and promotes STEM career exploration across multiple classrooms.

Use of Funds:
The grant funds STEMapalooza Unplugged, an immersive, in-person field trip for fifth and sixth-grade students from selected schools. Hosted at the Dorothy Inghram Learning Center, students engage in hands-on activities such as a Cyber Escape Room, Tower Building Challenge, and Micro:bit Programming. Each student receives a Micro:bit to take home, and teachers are provided with STEM activity kits to continue these lessons within their classrooms.
